About Raincloud Productions
WHO AM I?
My name is CURTIS DANIEL RAINCLOUD ROBERTSON. I grew up in the small town of Seward, Alaska for most of my life. Surrounded by mountains and wilderness, I found myself naturally conditioned to more extreme environments. If I wasn’t building forts or playing war in the woods, I was climbing to the top of spruce trees and picking pinecones.

My first steps into SERVICE STARTED AS A VOLUNTEER FIREFIGHTER. I was encouraged to become a member of Bear Creek Volunteer Fire Department. Pretty soon I found myself hooked on the adrenaline rush of rural structure fires, medical calls, wilderness search & rescue as well as highway MVA’s. Eventually I wanted to move beyond Seward’s seasonal focused work and landed a job with Doyon Universal Services as an INDUSTRIAL FIREFIGHTER FOR THE ALASKA PIPELINE. Although I was excited to occupy a role as a full time fire service professional, I did not feel the position allowed me to have a healthy work/life balance. With its two week on two week off schedule, as well as an 8 hour commute, I decided I wanted to move a new direction with my life.

Training some airport scenarios back in the day
In May 2013, I swore in and joined the ALASKA AIR NATIONAL GUARD AS A FIREFIGHTER (3E7X1) for a 6 year enlistment. Within a short period of time I was able to expand beyond my previous experience and certifications. Tech school in San Angelo, TX; several months of home seasoning training working with the Anchorage Fire Department, Hazmat Tech training in Detroit, MI; High Angle Rope Rescue & Confined Space Rescue in Albemarle, NC.
UAE Deployment

By year 4, I was grateful for the opportunities the Guard had given me, however I wanted my training to serve beyond Alaska. In 2017 I volunteered for a 6 MONTH DEPLOYMENT TO UNITED ARAB EMIRATES. It was an excellent learning experience and allowed me to pass Airman Leadership School (Distance Learning), acquire E5 (SSgt) rank as well as earn an Associates in Fire Science from the Community College of the Air Force.

shelby rude assistant
I had accomplished a lot. But my creative interests had been neglected at the expense of my service in the Air Guard. With my deployment money in hand, I decided to take a leap and buy some camera equipment. I set out on the adventure of taking the visual ideas in my head and translating them to reality. Thus began my foray into marketing and ultimately establishing Raincloud Productions. Although my enlistment ended in May 2019, my mission in service has only expanded. I’ve had many opportunities to film and photograph a wide range of projects as far east as Tennessee, and as far west as Alaska. The adventure has now brought me to Kalispell, Montana where I met my current assistant turned best friend. Shelby found her creative calling as early as high school and continued honing the skills as a photographer through her collegiate years. As a graduate, she now stands alongside me with in-house operations or encouragement for out-of-the-box imagination. The two of us continuously bounce ideas and concepts off one another, making any vision come to life. I couldn’t have asked for a better asset to Raincloud Productions.
In short, my vision is to translate my unique background and service experience to serve you. Let me utilize my hustle and talents to promote YOUR MISSION.
